“ Wow what a place! Super friendly staff, amazing fish and chips (best in town), delicious local beers! Great portions as well! ”
“ The food here is truly outstanding. On our first visit, we ordered the Fish and Chips and the mussels, and both dishes were exceptional — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The quality of the ingredients and the care in execution were obvious, and the staff made the experience even better with their warm and attentive service. Because of how much we enjoyed our meal, we were excited to return the following evening. Unfortunately, we were turned away despite seeing several empty tables. We were told they were reserved, but there were no signs indicating that. It was very disappointing, especially after such a fantastic experience the night before. This place has amazing food, but the inconsistency in seating left us with mixed feelings overall. ”
“ Visited MacGregor’s last week on a local recommendation and really enjoyed it. We had the Scotch egg, a salad, burger, and pie - all delicious. The Scotch egg was cold, which surprised us a little, as we expected it warm, but still very tasty. We arrived early, and by the time we left, the place was nearly full - clearly a popular spot! Cozy atmosphere and solid food. Would happily return. ”
“ Excellent food, bartenders were amazingly sweet. Get there early, it gets busy quickly. ”
“ Great pub with live music. Cozy and tasty food and good selection of beer and whiskey. The staff provide recommendations of you are unsure so don't be shy and ask away! ”
“ We were in Inverness two years ago and skipped going to MacGregor’s. That, we learned on this trip, was a mistake. We went on a Sunday to do the highlands whiskey tasting event. ( This is also very good. Do it. ) We had a couple of drinks listening to the live music for the Sunday session. Get there early and go enjoy this. You need to be inside the bar, which is small in order to see and hear. After our tasting we decided to stay and have one more. That's when I read the cocktail menu. We tried “The Romantic” first. We what an amazing old fashioned. I was very surprised. The Beast (Espresso Martini w/whiskey ) was amazing. The Philosopher was a next level gin cocktail. Katie was our bartender, and I have to give her credit for making some truly wonderful drinks. It kept us there for another couple of hours more than we planned. Do not miss this place. ”
“ A wonderful dining experience! We were able to get in on a Tuesday night without a reservation had the Steak and Ale Pie and Fish and Chips. Both meals were outstanding, the staff was welcoming and attentive, and I highly recommend this establishment. ”
